Green beans in spicy tahini sauce are a crunchy and tasty side dish for any type of meal. Here's a recipe for juicy green beans sautéed with a mildly spicy tahini sauce.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
400 grams of fresh or frozen green beans, washed.
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (not olive oil).
5 dried chili peppers (shaté).
1 tablespoon of Szechuan pepper (optional).
2 tablespoons of water.
4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped.
1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
1 teaspoon of salt.
4 tablespoons of tahini.
Preparation:
Prepare the beans: Cut off the ends of the beans and cut them in half lengthwise (if using frozen beans, you can skip this step).
Heat the oil in a wok or deep frying pan, then fry the dried chili peppers and Szechuan pepper for half a minute. Add the beans and continue frying, stirring, until the beans develop a deep color. Add 2 tablespoons of water and continue cooking until all the water is absorbed.
Add the remaining ingredients to the beans: garlic, sesame oil, salt, and tahini. Stir and sauté for about a minute. Remove from heat, transfer to a serving plate, and serve warm.
