Tahini Cake with Chocolate Pieces

Tahini cake with chocolate chunks in a simple version is the perfect cake to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea: it’s delicious, soft, fluffy, easy to prepare, and can be modified with various additions to taste.

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 200 grams (1 cup) sugar
  • 180 ml (3/4 cup) of your chosen oil
  • 240 ml (1 cup) orange juice or plant-based milk
  • 3/4 cup Al Arz Tahini
  • 320 grams (2 1/4 cups) flour
  • 10 grams baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 180°C and lightly grease two baking sheets. Using a mixer, beat the eggs with sugar into a light and fluffy mixture. Add
orange juice or plant-based milk, oil, and tahini and continue mixing. Add the flour with baking powder and mix again into a thick batter. Add chocolate chips or chocolate chunks, leaving some to sprinkle on top, and mix again.
Pour the tahini batter into molds, sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chunks, and place in the oven. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the cake is springy to the touch and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out “clean”.
